The Class A CDL Driver safely operates tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, trailers, and other specialized equipment to support environmental remediation, hazardous waste transportation, industrial cleaning, and emergency spill response projects. In this role, you work closely with environmental field crews to transport liquids, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, contaminated materials, and remediation equipment while strictly adhering to DOT, EPA, OSHA, and company safety requirements. You play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and customer service in industrial and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL Class A vehicles, including tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and trailers in industrial and field environments.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to approved treatment, storage, and disposal facilities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload liquid waste, sludge, contaminated water, chemicals, and industrial byproducts using appropriate procedures and equipment.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Operate pumps, hoses, valves, and vacuum systems during loading and unloading activities to ensure efficient and safe material handling.
• Assist with equipment setup, mobilization, and demobilization for environmental remediation and industrial service projects.
• Support hazardous material spill response and cleanup activities as part of emergency response teams.
• Assist environmental field technicians with decontamination, waste collection, and site cleanup operations.
• Perform industrial cleaning tasks, including tank cleaning, pit cleaning, and wastewater removal, following safety and environmental guidelines.
• Transport remediation equipment, tools, and supplies to and from project sites as scheduled.
• Participate in emergency response activities that may require rapid deployment, extended hours, and travel.
• Comply with all DOT, EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.
• Maintain accurate and complete driver logs, inspection reports, manifests, and transportation documentation.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all site safety protocols at all times.
• Immediately report incidents, spills, vehicle issues, and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Tanker endorsement required for operating vehicles designed to haul bulk liquids or gases in tanks with individual or aggregate capacity of 119 gallons or more.
• Minimum of 3+ years of commercial driving experience.
• Demonstrated experience operating CDL Class A vehicles such as tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and trailers.
• Strong knowledge of and adherence to DOT regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection requirements.
• Ability to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to approved facilities.
• Ability to operate pumps, hoses, valves, and vacuum systems for loading and unloading bulk liquids and sludge.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening
• Ability to travel and work overtime, weekends, and participate in emergency response assignments as required.
• Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and high-quality customer service in industrial and field settings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HAZWOPER 40-hour certification preferred.
• HazMat endorsement preferred for transporting regulated hazardous materials.
• Experience operating vacuum trucks in industrial or environmental service applications.
• Industrial cleaning experience, including tank and pit cleaning and wastewater removal.
• Environmental remediation experience, including spill response and site cleanup.
• Confined space entry certification preferred.
• Experience working in environmental, spill response, and over-the-road transportation environments.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Work Environment

You work primarily in industrial, environmental, and field settings, operating heavy combination vehicles of 26,001 pounds or more with towed units over 10,000 pounds designed to haul bulk liquids or gases. The role involves driving over the road to treatment, storage, and disposal facilities, as well as working at project sites for environmental remediation, industrial cleaning, and spill response. You regularly use tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, trailers, pumps, hoses, valves, and vacuum systems. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following site-specific safety protocols, often in dirty, wet, or confined environments. Work hours may include overtime, weekends, and variable shifts to support emergency response and project schedules, with travel to different job sites as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Moncks Corner, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
