Progressive Therapy of New Jersey (PTNJ) is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our school-based team in Union Township Schools in Hampton, New Jersey.

For more than 23 years, PTNJ has partnered with public schools throughout New Jersey to provide high-quality behavioral consultation and support. We specialize in educational settings and believe staff do their best work when they receive strong training, mentorship, and direct clinical support.

About the Role

This is a full-time, school-based position supporting students and educators within the classroom.

You will work alongside an experienced BCBA and school staff to provide behavioral support, model effective strategies, and help create positive and structured learning environments.

You will receive direct supervision from a BCBA, ongoing coaching, and hands-on training while building your skills in applied behavior analysis and classroom-based support.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group behavioral support to students
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and classroom support strategies
• Collect and accurately record behavioral and skill-acquisition data
• Support students with academic, behavioral, communication, and social goals
• Model behavioral strategies for teachers and classroom staff
• Assist with classroom-based staff training and coaching
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers
• Help create safe, positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environments
• Participate in ongoing supervision, feedback, and professional development

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of two years of experience providing ABA services to children with developmental, behavioral, emotional, or intellectual disabilities
• Experience implementing behavioral strategies and collecting data
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work in person during school hours

Preferred

• Registered Behavior Technician certification
• Previous experience working in public school settings
• Experience supporting or training classroom staff

Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Collaborating with CSTs, teachers, administrators, and related service providers
Supporting students across IEP-driven educational environments
Providing ethical, compassionate, and data-driven behavior support
Coaching and supporting school staff with practical, real-world strategies
