Automated Tester

Description: On-site in Cincinnati, OH Our client seeks an Automated Tester to build and execute automated testing for data APIs and data movement using Kafka and big data tools. The role includes designing and maintaining automation frameworks, developing and running test plans and test cases across Java and Python services, and collaborating within Agile teams to ensure quality delivery. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for data APIs and data movement pipelines. Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and regression suites for Java and Python services. Implement API testing for XML and SOAP-based web services using SOAP UI. Create BDD feature files, scenarios, and step definitions with Cucumber using Gherkin syntax. Develop Selenium automation frameworks using JUnit or TestNG and manage execution with Maven targets. Configure and run automated regression suites within Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate within Scrum or Kanban teams, participating in ceremonies and contributing to quality engineering practices. Provide hands-on technical direction across design, development, and testing activities. Experience Requirements: Proven experience building automated testing frameworks for data APIs and data pipelines. Hands-on API test automation with XML/SOAP and SOAP UI. BDD test development using Cucumber and Gherkin. Selenium WebDriver/GRID automation with JUnit or TestNG and Maven. Experience with Jenkins, Maven, and JUnit benchmarks for CI/CD. Proficiency with Java and Python. Exposure to JavaScript technologies such as Node.js and Angular.js. Knowledge of Kafka and big data tools for data movement testing. Strong communication and collaboration skills within Agile environments, including planning, grooming, retrospectives, and demos.
