Behavioral Health Supervisor - Student Health Centers

Job Overview Behavioral Health Supervisor for the Health Department’s Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) initiative. Oversee and expand behavioral health services across nine Student Health Centers in partnership with five local school districts. Key Responsibilities Staff Supervision & Performance Management: Direct, coach, evaluate a multicultural clinical team; manage schedules, observe client interactions, review documentation, and provide performance feedback. Operational Oversight & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows, ensure evidence‑based interventions, maintain compliance with health guidelines and licensing rules, and implement procedural improvements. Direct Patient Care & Case Management: Deliver bio‑psycho‑social assessments, evidence‑based behavioral health interventions, and case management to patients ages 5–18, including unscheduled consultations, group appointments, and family coordination with community partners. Clinical Consultation & Team Education: Partner with primary care teams to provide expert consultation on medical and behavioral health intersections, offer timely feedback and treatment recommendations, and educate team members on clinical topics. Staff Development & Competency Management: Mentor a diverse team by identifying training needs, coordinating professional development, managing credentialing, and providing technical or clinical expertise. Inclusive Leadership & Team Dynamics: Foster a productive, inclusive, and equitable work environment, address staff issues promptly, and build a workforce that reflects the community served. Administrative Oversight & Operations: Manage daily administrative functions such as preparing agendas, conducting staff meetings, maintaining time and attendance records, drafting official documentation, and overseeing clinical and health education materials. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited program recognized by Oregon behavioral health licensure boards (LPC, LCSW, or PsyD). 2 years of healthcare operations management experience, including supervision, program development, and quality improvement. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Psychologist, or Professional Counselor in Oregon. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check including fingerprinting with Portland Public Schools. Preferred Qualifications 1‑2 years experience working with adolescents with mental health diagnoses. Experience in primary care or health care settings. Background in program development or management with effective leadership and team supervision. Experience in Fair‑Price Community Health Center (FQHC) environments. Experience with school‑based programs. Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
