Process Technology Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Process Technology Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Calvert, Alabama . Overview The role involves developing and maintaining effective technology and leading projects to optimize process and product capabilities, improve quality, productivity, and cost within the highly automated PLTCM/CPL. Responsibilities Developing and maintaining an effective technical team responsible for CRM process technology and development. Leads major improvement projects, improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance. Providing technical support for all CRM units, reporting process performance to senior management, and managing/improving statistical systems that define product/process capabilities. Developing/improving inspection and testing methods, driving functionality and performance of process models/control systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in Cold Rolling Mill field Requirements Background in major steel mill processes and products with in-depth knowledge of pickling and rolling processes and technology. Knowledge of steel strip properties and applications. Understanding steel sheet rolling and pickling process, process control, properties and metallurgy of steels. Demonstrates understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and process models. Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop technical presentations and competently communicate interpersonally and technical papers. Competency in handling fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing proficiency. Demonstrates high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred Requirements Advanced technical knowledge of cold rolling and pickling process and flat carbon products. Strong teamwork and a hands-on working approach. Advanced skills in data analysis, statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation). We thank all applicants for their interest.
