Job Summary:

The CVICU Travel Nurse provides specialized critical care for cardiac surgery and ICU patients, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through advanced nursing skills and monitoring. This role involves working in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment with a focus on hemodynamic management and complex interventions.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer and titrate vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics with precision.
  
  
• 
  Operate and interpret telemetry, ventilators, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation.
  
  
• 
  Perform advanced procedures such as cardioversion, chest tube insertions, and transvenous pacing.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient status continuously, assessing for changes in hemodynamics and responding appropriately.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Maintain thorough documentation in Cerner and adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of ICU experience, specifically in CVICU preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate expertise in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and ventilator management.
  
  
• 
  Possess proficiency in telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiac procedures.
  
  
• 
  Familiarity with equipment such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, and chest tubes is advantageous.
  
  
• 
  Ability to float to all ICU areas and adapt quickly to various clinical scenarios.
  
  
• 
  CCRN certification is recommended.
