Kitchen Lead

Position: Kitchen Lead (Job ID: 4004) – Lakewood Elementary School, Starting: Aug11, 2026. Hours: 28.75 per week, Monday‑Friday, Part Time. Reports to Food Service Director. Qualifications Experience working in a school kitchen or cafeteria preferred. Job Responsibilities Main cook for all breakfast and lunch meals; follow recipes and portion guidelines; maintain cleanliness. Sanitation: adhere to food safety guidelines; clean prep surfaces, equipment, utensils; monitor food temperatures and storage. Serving students: greet students and staff politely; serve food items; accommodate portion sizes and dietary restrictions; assist with selections and answer menu questions. Running register: operate cash register accurately; handle cash per procedures; balance drawer at end of shift. Dishwashing duties as needed: wash, rinse, sanitize dishes, carts, utensils; ensure proper cleaning and storage. Stocking/ordering: assist with putting away GFS orders in dry storage, coolers and freezers; responsible for inventory and ordering supplies via kitchen manager. Attend bi‑monthly lead meetings; must be SafeServ certified or obtain ServSafe certification upon hire. Punch: able to stand for extended periods, fast paced kitchen, push/pull/lift/carry up to 40pounds regularly. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Reaching: extend hands/arms in any direction. Lifting: lift/push/pull/carry up to 40 pounds regularly. Grasping: apply pressure to objects with fingers and palm. Talking: express or exchange ideas verbally, clearly and loudly as needed. Hearing: perceive sounds at normal speaking level, receive information orally, discriminate sounds. Repetitive motions: move wrists, hands, fingers. Environmental conditions: subject to.
