Senior Software Engineer – Manufacturing Technology / Ignition SCADA

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support enterprise manufacturing technology initiatives through the Ignition Center of Excellence. This role will focus on developing and deploying SCADA solutions, supporting digital manufacturing systems, and driving manufacturing technology transformation across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement software solutions using Ignition SCADA, PostgreSQL, and Python
• Support manufacturing technology deployments, assessments, testing, and site go-live activities
• Improve manufacturing system performance and operational efficiency
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT, and site leadership teams
• Develop software engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
• Support enterprise digital manufacturing initiatives in regulated environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• 2+ years supporting MES, digital manufacturing systems, eBR/eDHR/eLHR, or manufacturing technology deployments
• Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Ignition SCADA configuration and development
• Python and PostgreSQL
• Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics platforms
• Scrum / Agile methodologies
• PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Siemens)
• Linux, Docker, Podman
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Global or multi-site deployment experience

Ideal Candidate

Seeking candidates with a strong blend of manufacturing engineering, digital manufacturing systems, MES/eBR deployments, Ignition SCADA development, and cross-functional leadership experience . Medical device, FDA-regulated, or highly regulated manufacturing backgrounds are highly preferred.
