Registered Nurse (RN) Brain Injury - Sunnyview Rehab

Position Overview Per Diem RN – Brain Injury Unit – Sunnyview Rehab Hospital. Availability during weekdays and weekends is required, with rotating shifts covering both day and night. Full week of Sunnyview Orientation is mandatory. Responsibilities Assist individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses to attain and maintain maximum function. Help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Design and implement treatment strategies based on scientific nursing theory related to self‑care, promoting physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health. Perform complex patient assessments and implement intensive interventions (e.g., IV medications, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, ventilators, telemetry, chest tubes, tracheostomy care and weaning, tube feedings). Receive training for PALS certification, tracheostomy care, IVs, and wound care. Qualifications New York State RN license. Associate’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). At least one year of RN experience. Strong interpersonal skills capable of maintaining the highest level of customer service in a fast‑paced environment. Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Passion to learn, grow, and develop in the nursing field. Specialty Areas The Brain Injury unit covers TBI, comas, hemorrhagic stroke, and pediatrics. Services include coma recovery, minimally conscious patient care, and stimulation to encourage consciousness. Patients may use assistive technologies such as ReWalk, Ekso Exoskeleton, and Litegait system. Benefits National ranking among top 30 rehab hospitals. Pay & Commitment Special per diem rates based on monthly commitments. Pay range for non‑per diem: $40.00–$53.10 per hour, adjusted for experience, skills, and education.
