Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center with 3+ years of OR experience, strong scrub and circulate skills, and availability for night shifts including on-call hours.

Details

• Main OR setting within a Level I Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s (7pm–7:30am) or 4x10s
• Diverse surgical caseload including ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve and bypass), laparoscopic and open GYN and general surgery, and strong trauma cases
• On-call requirement of 8–12 hours per month
• Floating required within skillset; patient ratios vary based on census and acuity
• No block scheduling
• Charting system: Epic
• Local candidates accepted

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• BLS required; CNOR preferred
• Ability to both scrub and circulate required; highly preferred for neuro/craniotomy cases
• Robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi, SP) preferred
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Two current professional references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 designated holidays
• RTO requests made after an offer will not be accommodated; schedule changes are not permitted once onsite
• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Orientation includes non-billable pre-start modules averaging approximately 18 hours for RNs, including Epic training
• Candidates who fail competency exams must wait 6 months before reapplying
• Previous charge experience is preferred but not required
• First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is highly preferred
