Legal Claims Professional - Financial Lines

Zurich is currently looking for a Legal Claims Professional for our growing Management Solutions group. In this role you will manage public company D&O, fiduciary liability, and potentially transactional liability claims of moderate to high complexity under limited supervision. You will review complaints and all other legal pleadings and discovery, conduct arbitration demands, perform coverage analysis, determine exposure, and set appropriate reserves. Claims will be resolved according to best practices and within authority limits, with regular communication to customers and brokers. You may be dedicated to handling claims for specific accounts. Analyze coverage, liability, damages and exposure Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations Draft reservation of rights and coverage denial letters Notify underwriter of claim issues Draft case summary reports for significant reserve increases and trial preparation Direct and engage with defense counsel activities Analyze risk and minimize exposure Strategically direct claims to timely and appropriate resolutions Zurich North America provides a hybrid work model that emphasizes flexibility, allowing claims employees to work from their preferred location while facilitating in‑person collaboration when needed. Occasionally on‑site attendance may be required. The selected candidate will report to one of Zurich’s Manhattan NY, Parsippany NJ, or Schaumburg IL offices on a hybrid schedule. Basic Qualifications Juris Doctor and five or more years of experience in the legal area Juris Doctor and five or more years of legal practice experience in the insurance area Required adjuster license(s) – must obtain and maintain Experience in insurance claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment Negotiation experience Customer service experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Member of the bar Claims handling experience including Public D&O, EPL, Fiduciary and/or insurance coverage defense Analytical skills Strong communication skills Ability to multi‑task Organization and time management skills Ability to work independently Experience collaborating across work groups Insurance designations such as SCLA, CPCU, AIC The pay for this position is a national average of $135,000.00 - $165,000.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
