About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg/Telemetry Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg experience required. Travel experience preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BCLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: Must be comfortable floating between Med-Surg and Stepdown/PCU units. Must already have SC nursing license and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility. Facility will not accept any license or background hits. Description: This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units. Candidates must be comfortable doing both. Patient ratios are as follows: Stepdown 1:4-5, Med-Surg 1:5-6. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring. Experience in treating patients with surgical and orthopedic conditions is preferred. Additional skills include handling chest tubes, feeding tubes, and post-cardiac care management. Expect high patient care ratios and frequent floating within the hospital. All policies on floating will comply with current standards of regulatory agencies. Candidates should be prepared to adapt quickly to different unit environments and patient needs.
