Lead Line Cook
Malaparte is looking for a strong Lead Line Cook to join our kitchen team.
We are a busy Italian restaurant in the West Village focused on simple, seasonal food, handmade pastas, and consistent execution. We are looking for someone reliable, organized, and able to lead by example during service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the line during service and help keep the kitchen organized and efficient
- Execute dishes consistently according to restaurant standards
- Support prep, station setup, and daily mise en place
- Communicate clearly with the Chef
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Help train and support line cooks when needed
- Assist with receiving, labeling, storage, and inventory control
- Stay calm and focused in a fast-paced service environment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen
- Previous lead line cook or strong line cook experience preferred
- Strong knife skills and solid understanding of Italian cooking
- Ability to work clean, fast, and organized
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to lead by example and communicate professionally
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
