Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP Opportunity in MaineWe are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP to join a great team in Maine. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited school. They must be licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maine and possess Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current CPR and ACLS Certification is required. The candidate must be able to be credentialed and covered by FTCA Malpractice Coverage, work as part of an integrated team, and possess strong communication skills. A clean criminal and DHHS background is necessary, as well as the ability and means to travel between clinics as needed. A valid State of Maine Driver’s license and ability to be insured by company vehicle insurance carrier is also required.Benefits include company paying 80% of the Health Insurance Premium for employee and 50% for dependent coverage, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, dental benefit for the employee and family at no cost to the employee after 90 days of employment, accrued up to 3 weeks of paid vacation year one and 4 weeks vacation each year after, 10 paid Holidays annually eligible after 90 days of employment, up to 24 hours of accrued paid time off year one, up to 48 hours each year after, up to 40 hours of accrued earned paid leave each year, 100% paid Short Term and Long Term Disability after 90 days of employment, 100% paid Life Insurance equal to two years of salary, 401(k) available after one year of employment, matches the first 3% of the employee's contribution at 100%, the next 2% of the employee's contribution is matched at 50%, Education Reimbursement Opportunities, and staff adjustment available upon hire.Responsibilities include working with patients in providing outpatient community mental health services, collaborating with Primary Care Providers to recognize, treat and manage mental health and psychosocial issues while acting as a contributing member to the Integrated Primary Care Team, providing focused intervention for patients in need of mental health services, obtaining a Mental Health history and diagnostic evaluation, interpreting health data by identifying wellness and risk factors, evaluating, diagnosing, intervening, and monitoring neuropsychiatric problems, identifying variations from norms, prescribing medication per the approved formulary based on licensure with the Maine Board of Nursing and current DEA registration, counseling individuals and families, consulting and/or collaborating with other health care providers and community resources to influence care of patients and affect change in systems, initiating follow up to determine any changes in treatment approach and refer patients to other health care providers as appropriate, identifying and providing for the education needs of the patient’s family members, considering age and culture, providing case management skills to coordinate comprehensive health services and ensure continuity of care, evaluating client progress in attaining expected outcomes, providing complete documentation of visit and the patients progress in the medical record, maintaining up to date records and billing practices in a timely manner within protocols, working where indicated to effect behavioral changes in patients with or at risk for physical disorders, assisting patients in need of developing daily and community living skills, providing patients with self management skills and education information needed so they can participate in their treatment, providing consultation with Management and other clinical team members about behavioral services and suggested areas of program evaluation, assisting patients with complying with medical treatment such as offering strategies to cope with medication side effects or chronic pain, working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses and other mental health professionals, reporting as required to the QI/QA Committee, and performing other duties, projects as assigned by the Medical Director.
