Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and structural heart procedures. Responsible for assessing, monitoring, and intervening during complex cardiovascular interventions, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patients during cardiac procedures and sedation.
• Administer oral and intravenous medications accurately, observing for adverse reactions.
• Manage patients under sedation, ensuring safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Educate patients and families on postop care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document patient information, consent forms, lab results, and procedural details meticulously.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency and cardiology staff, for coordinated patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with at least two years of experience in cath lab, procedural, or sedation nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing cardiovascular procedures such as catheterizations, stent placements, balloon valvuloplasty, and device management (Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps).
• Possess strong assessment, monitoring, and clinical judgment skills.
• Be able to work scheduled hours and participate in weekend and night call rotations.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
