Lexington Prescription Center is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Pharmacy Cashier. The Pharmacy Cashier serves as the first and last point of contact for many customers and plays an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. This position is responsible for assisting customers with purchases, processing transactions accurately, answering phones, and supporting the pharmacy team with daily front-end operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
- Assist customers with prescription pick-up and over-the-counter purchases.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising over-the-counter products
- Keep the front-end area clean, organized, and well stocked.
- Coordinate with pharmacy staff to notify customers when prescriptions are ready for pickup.
- Assist customers with locating products throughout the store.
- Support smooth workflow during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
- Some Saturday hours are required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous cashier, retail, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
