Fairmont Consulting Group LLC is a fast-growing Boston and Washington, D.C.-based management consulting firm focused on merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence and strategic advisory services for corporate and financial sector clients active in the aerospace, defense, and government services sectors. Interns become core team members over the course of the internship. They gain broad experience to consulting as well as aerospace, defense, and government services. At the end of the internship, Interns are considered for a full time analyst position upon graduation. Our work products are rigorously analytical, highly customized, creative, insightful, and address our clients’ most challenging questions around corporate-level strategy and mergers and acquisitions. The nature of our engagements is such that we spend the majority of our time working from our own Boston or Washington, D.C. offices, with travel limited to a few days each month. Working at a nimble, growing organization allows all members of the team to have visibility across and exposure to all of the firm’s served markets and engagements. Through working on projects as part of a small team, our Interns grow both their domain knowledge in aerospace, defense, and government services as well as their functional expertise in business analysis, corporate strategy, and M&A. Fairmont maintains a flat organizational structure, allowing Interns to refine their communication skills and take on responsibilities not typically afforded someone at their level in a larger organization. Qualifications and Attributes of Successful Interns Class of Fall 2027/Spring 2028 Experience or demonstrated interest in aerospace, defense, and/or government services sectors Experience or demonstrated interest in business analysis, financial analysis, corporate strategy, and/or M&A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, economics, finance, business or political science preferred, other areas of study will be fully considered but demonstrated quantitative skills are a requirement for liberal arts majors Solid academic credentials as demonstrated through a GPA commensurate with academic excellence (3.5 minimum GPA) Flexibility, attention to detail, ability to think critically, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude Advanced skills in Excel, Powerpoint Life as an Intern at Fairmont As an Intern, you will support Fairmont engagements across both the strategy and M&A diligence advisory practices of Fairmont. Our strategy practice addresses critical questions and decisions for senior leadership teams of both large and middle-market aerospace, defense, and government services companies. Typical engagements may include evaluation of long term industry trends, assessing the market for the client’s currently-served or adjacent domains, or development of an acquisition screen to advise a client on potential M&A targets. The M&A diligence practice includes work on both the buy and sell side of merger and acquisition transactions, and focuses on evaluating a company’s relative strategic positioning from the perspective of programs, technology, and industry structure. Our clients include five of the ten largest private equity firms. Typical engagements include rigorous, data-intensive research on the M&A target’s market, business potential, and competitive environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
