Summary

Transports chickens from broiler farms to the plants by performing the following duties:

• Drives a truck to transport chickens from the broiler farms to the plants.
• Picks up chickens at the farms.
• Delivers chickens to live haul.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Binds and unbinds cages.
• Must comply with all DOT and State driver training and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of verifiable driving experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate hours of service, complete log book pages and calculate and report hours worked.
• Must have a Class-A CDL Drivers License.
• Must have no major driving violations and be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug test.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
