Nurse Practitioner - Full Time Night

Job Title

The role involves ensuring safe, appropriate, and goal-directed care in collaboration with the Nurse Manager for each unit, providing support and direction to nursing staff on the evening and night tours of duty, and implementing Nursing Department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The position functions and responsibilities include:

• Understanding and promoting Elizabeth Seton Children's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.
• Performing clinical evaluations of residents for acute illness or change in status.
• Providing medical services for residents who have chronic issues as needed.
• Ordering medications and ensuring proper administration.
• Providing emergency services for residents and staff as needed.
• Assisting Employee Health office with immunizations, PPD placement and reading, and staff assessments as needed.
• Addressing abnormal laboratory results and documenting assessment and plans.
• Ordering and arranging transfer of residents to acute care facilities as indicated, including provision of written consultation and telephone call to receiving ED.
• Writing thorough notes including history, physical exam, assessment, and plan for resident encounters.
• Using electronic medical record for notes and orders.
• Providing end-of-shift sign out to nursing and medical staff.
• Making rounds to ensure that all residents are seen at least one time per shift.
• In partnership with nurse supervisor, taking active role in education, support, and guidance of staff.
• Meeting with parents, physicians, other staff, and/or administration as needed.
• Maintaining knowledge base through continuing professional education programs and providing documentation to medical staff office.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by supervisor, department director, and/or administration.

Qualifications

Education requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• B.S. N.; M.S.N.
• N.P. Board Certification required.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number Required.
• Current NY State RN and NP License.
• BCLS certificate.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Completion of courses mandated for continuation of RN license, (ex. Infection Control course; Child Abuse course.)
• DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification is required.

Experience

• Minimum of two years pediatric experience.
• Minimum of three years' experience in supervision.
• Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities preferred.

Salary Range: $145,000.00/Yr. to $160,000.00/Yr.
