Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,900 staff members, serving approximately 13,300 students pre-K post secondary. Physical Requirements: General Duties: Daily cleaning and upkeep of assigned building sections. Completion of various maintenance tasks. Physical and Operational Responsibilities: Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull, sit, and stand for long periods of time. Required to have the ability to push and/or lift up to and including 50 pounds, such as boxes, bags, equipment, etc. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass, maintaining soap, hand towels, and toilet paper dispensers. Climbing ladders to access rooftops, change lighting fixtures, ceiling panels, and painting. Crouching and maneuvering through utility tunnels. Lifting and securing lunch tables. Collecting, handling, and disposing of trash inside and outside. Setting up and breaking down chairs, tables, risers, and other equipment for events and activities. Performing outdoor grounds maintenance, including snow removal and lawn care. Operating commercial equipment such as: Tractors Snow throwers Weed whips Using floor care equipment, including: Riding automatic scrubbers. Manual swing buffers.
