Credit Delivery Portfolio Manager - Medical Specialty Team

Overview The Credit Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager II describes underwriting loan transactions, including completing all required financial and other due diligence, to support recommendations for new business-purpose (wholesale) credit requests. The role manages an assigned portfolio of credit relationships; typical portfolio size is over $500MM. The position supports a growing national franchise focused on Middle Market Healthcare Services. Loan requests handled may range above $10MM, with some requests potentially exceeding $100MM. Responsibilities Independently structure loan terms, covenants and pricing to support recommendations to credit risk management. Handle the largest and most complex wholesale loan requests and borrower relationships within the wealth portfolio. Analyze a variety of deal structures, including owner-occupied and investor-owned commercial real estate, working capital facilities, and other complex financing arrangements. Analyze historical and projected financial statements, tax returns, borrowing base statements, appraisals, loan collateral, and other due diligence items. Identify key borrower and transaction risks, provide mitigants, and propose alternative loan structures where appropriate. Prepare concise credit packages including transaction purpose, borrower overview, financial profile, strengths, risks, mitigants, and recommended actions for credit risk management. Negotiate legal documents and participate in the closing process for portfolio loan transactions. Manage end-to-end credit delivery in coordination with cross-functional partners (internal legal, outside counsel, loan fulfillment, and loan servicing) to meet client expectations. Maintain ongoing communication with the advisor team and clients to manage expectations. Act with a sense of urgency and engage with clients and prospects to understand financial profiles and discuss credit opportunities. Monitor portfolio performance and trends, identify issues early, and drive remediation. Coordinate portfolio administration activities such as loan renewals and modifications, annual credit reviews, review of financial statements, risk ratings, covenant compliance, and collateral monitoring. Maintain a strong understanding of industry and regulatory trends and borrower market dynamics. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or business, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong decision-making skills with ability to balance business development and risk mitigation. Excellent proven oral and written communication skills. Strong client relationship skills. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills in external client interactions and internal cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a formal bank credit training program; strong industry and product knowledge; experience underwriting real estate related transactions; strong financial analysis skills and ability to create financial models; solid legal and loan structuring fundamentals.
