Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care throughout the continuum of care in the Pain Intervention Department, including pre-procedure assessment and preparation, procedural support, and post-anesthesia recovery. This is a hands-on clinical role that partners closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to safely care for patients undergoing interventional pain management procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced procedural environment and enjoys caring for patients from admission through discharge.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Perform pre-procedure assessments, medication reconciliation, and patient education.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including IV insertion and procedural readiness verification.
• Assist physicians during interventional pain procedures, including fluoroscopy-guided treatments.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Continuously assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care, including pain management and discharge readiness assessment.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
• Accurately document patient care and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pain Management, PACU, Interventional Radiology (IR), Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Emergency Department, Critical Care or Ambulatory Surgery experience.
• Additional specialty experience may be required as per facility practices (i.e. GI, IR etc)
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required
• PALS as required by facility
