Payroll Coordinator

Payroll CoordinatorLHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator with at least 3 years of experience working in a similar role. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity, located in Medford, NY. Responsibilities include:Manage weekly payroll for a smaller entity and oversee high-volume biweekly payroll for over 400 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in a fast-paced, growing environmentHandle off-cycle payrolls as needed, including bonuses and retroactive adjustmentsStay up to date on federal and New York State payroll regulations to ensure ongoing complianceMaintain employee data within the HRIS, including onboarding new hires, updating accruals, and processing payroll-impacting changesReview and audit timesheets to confirm accuracy, proper scheduling, PTO usage, and compliance with overtime guidelinesPartner closely with Finance to align payroll data with general ledger coding and funding allocationsCoordinate with HR regarding employment changes such as transfers, status updates, and terminationsPrepare and maintain required wage notices in accordance with regulationsMonitor and audit employee accrual balances to ensure correct calculations and policy adherenceManage user access and permissions within timekeeping and attendance systemsOversee timeclock functionality, ID badges, and employee enrollments; troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with vendors and ITSet up and maintain earnings codes, garnishments, tax elections, and benefit deductions for employeesIdentify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase system efficiency as the organization scalesCalculate and prepare quarterly third-party sick pay and Paid Family Leave contributionsProcess retirement plan contributions and loan repayments on a recurring basis, including 403(b) and 401(a) plansRespond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and payroll policies in a timely mannerExperience: Minimum 3-5 years of Payroll experienceWork Site: Onsite Employment Type: Temp to Perm Salary: $28-30/hrBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
