The Role

We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team for opportunities within an IDD/ICF facility setting. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by encouraging independence, building life skills, and helping improve their daily quality of life.

CNAs are welcome to apply; however this is a DSP position and is paid at the DSP rate, not the CNA rate.

What You'll Bring (Requirements)

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: 1+ years of experience preferred, especially with individuals with disabilities. Related experience is helpful, especially in caregiving, behavioral health, direct support, or healthcare settings.
• Health Requirements: Must provide a Physician/CRNP-signed physical dated within the past 6 months that states you are free from communicable diseases and cleared to perform job duties; 2-Step TB or comparable TB documentation dated within the past 6 months; and COVID-19 vaccination documentation or ability to complete a religious exemption form.
• Clearance : Current Child Abuse History Clearance for Employment (PA CWIS Abuse Registry).
• Background : Must be able to pass all required background checks and facility-specific requirements.
• Skills: Strong communication, patience, compassion, reliability, and the ability to work independently while following care and support plans.
• Training : Complete Fire Safety Training at the facility prior to the first scheduled shift.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Support Independence: Encourage, mentor, and coach individuals as they work toward personal goals, daily routines, life skills, and increased independence.
• Follow Support Plans: Follow Individual Support Plans and facility-specific instructions to provide consistent and appropriate support.
• Promote Engagement: Help individuals participate in meaningful activities, socialization, and community involvement when applicable.
• Assist with Daily Needs: Provide support with daily living activities, personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and other routine needs as assigned.
• Observe & Report: Monitor and report changes in mood, behavior, health or needs to the appropriate facility staff.
• Promote Safety and Dignity: Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Onboarding & Facility Approval Process

Because this position is staffed through a Managed Service Provider and facility system, all required credentials and compliance documents must be submitted, reviewed, and approved before placement.

Required documentation must meet facility/MSP standards. Incomplete, expired, incorrectly worded, unsigned, or non-compliant documents may delay or prevent placement until corrected documentation is provided.

After credentials are reviewed and approved, eligible DSP must complete required fire safety training before being eligible to pick up shifts. Completion of onboarding does not guarantee a specific schedule, location, number of shifts, or ongoing facility need.

• Setting: IDD/ICF facility and community-based settings
• Pay Range: Starting from $20.00 per hour
• Shift: Daylight & Evening depending on locations
