Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced candidate for a challenging position in the Labor and Delivery department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an L&D unit with comparable volumes and acuity, alongside expertise in managing various high-acuity cases.

Key Details

• Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Start Dates: 10/5, 10/19, 11/2
• Contract Length: 18 Weeks
• Location: Seattle, WA

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to float to the Post-Partum unit when necessary.
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM.
• Charge experience is preferred.
• Must be proficient in handling magnesium drips, C-sections, and postpartum care.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
• Manage active labor, inductions, and pregnancy complications.
• Supervise and assist in C-sections, D&Cs, and hysterectomies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families about care plans and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary support with teams including IV, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.
• Maintain competency in skills such as sterile vaginal exams, placing fetal scalp electrodes, and IV management.

Unit Details

The unit consists of a 28-bed facility with 6 OBED, 12 LDR, 4 antepartum, 3 OR, and 3 PACU. It operates as a level 3 NICU, managing high-acuity cases down to 24 weeks. The expected delivery volume ranges from 300-350 per month. Both local and travel candidates are encouraged to apply.
