Role Description The Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role located in New Albany, Ohio. This position is responsible for supporting project teams in implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs in alignment with Bechtel standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site safety inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and supporting the development and delivery of safety training for project personnel. The Safety Specialist will participate in incident and accident investigations, assist with root cause analysis, and help implement preventive measures to reduce risk. The role also involves maintaining safety documentation, preparing reports, collaborating with construction and operations teams, and promoting a safety-focused culture across the project. Qualifications Strong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply safety principles in construction and project environments. Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and implementation of safety standards. Proficiency in Safety Training and Accident Investigation, including conducting incident reviews, root cause analysis, and recommending corrective and preventive actions. Knowledge of relevant safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices; ability to interpret and apply OSHA or equivalent standards. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams and present safety information clearly. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining safety records, reports, and training logs. Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial project environments is highly beneficial.
