Job Title: DBT Developer



Location: Hybrid (50% office Pleasanton, CA)

Seeking a DBT & SQL Developer with AWS experience (Airflow knowledge is a plus). Comfortable working independently.

Job summary: Focusing on data pipeline initiatives that use Airflow, ETL, SQL, and DBT Core for enterprise-scale analytics programs. The role manages planning, coordination, and delivery of complex data projects, ensuring quality outcomes, stakeholder alignment, and measurable value for business and society through trusted data solutions.

Experience: 5 to 6 Yrs

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate end-to-end planning of data programs that rely on Airflow, ETL, SQL, and DBT Core, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and outcome-focused delivery.
• Drive integrated program schedules across multiple data engineering and analytics teams, aligning dependencies, milestones, and resource plans for reliable execution.
• Manage stakeholder expectations across business, technology, and operations functions by providing transparent status, risk visibility, and clear decision inputs.
• Facilitate program ceremonies such as planning reviews and increment checkpoints to keep teams focused on shared objectives and measurable data outcomes.
• Monitor data pipeline performance and quality metrics at a program level, and collaborate with technical owners to prioritize remediation and continuous improvement actions.
• Ensure ETL workflows orchestrated through Airflow follow agreed standards and controls by tracking adherence and escalating deviations to accountable owners.
• Coordinate implementation of DBT Core models within broader data initiatives, ensuring alignment to defined transformation patterns and documentation practices.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to sequence SQL and ETL deliverables so that downstream consumers receive timely, trusted, and well-validated datasets.
• Oversee risk and issue management for data programs by identifying impact, owners, and resolution paths, and by keeping program governance forums informed.
• Align program deliverables with organizational data strategy and ethical use principles so that solutions support responsible innovation and societal benefit.
• Guide adoption of hybrid work practices within program teams, ensuring effective collaboration, clear communication norms, and accessible documentation repositories.
• Track financials and benefits realization for assigned programs by comparing outcomes against business cases and recommending course corrections when needed.
• Coordinate day shift operations for program activities, making sure handoffs and communications are optimized without requiring travel commitments for team members.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate strong hands-on experience using Airflow to orchestrate complex data workflows, with the ability to understand dependencies and failure modes.
• Apply practical expertise in ETL design and optimization, creating structured transformation approaches that improve reliability and maintainability of data pipelines.
• Use SQL fluently to support analysis, validation, and troubleshooting across program workstreams, enabling accurate insights and quick resolution of data issues.
• Leverage DBT Core experience to manage data models and transformations with version control, documentation, and testing practices aligned to program standards.
• Bring prior program management experience of five to six years in technology or data environments, with a track record of delivering multi-team initiatives.
• Show skill in hybrid collaboration tools and methods, enabling distributed teams to maintain alignment, clarity, and shared understanding of goals and progress.
• Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation abilities to translate technical details into business impacts and to build consensus on priorities and trade-offs.
• Apply structured problem solving and analytical thinking to evaluate risks, dependencies, and options, leading to pragmatic and data-informed program decisions.
• Possess experience working in day shift schedules with global stakeholders through digital channels, without relying on travel for effective coordination.

Certifications Required: Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or a recognized data engineering certification.
