PET/CT TechnologistAll KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI's vision of providing the region's best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.Key Responsibilities:Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.Selects the most appropriate and cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient's abilities and condition.Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices.Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media or radioactive isotopes.Performs venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance according to established guidelines.Administers radioactive materials and or contrast agents according to established guidelines.Observes patient and equipment during procedures, documents patient reactions or problems on requisitions and reports immediately to supervisor.Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate.Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.Documents patient and exam occurrences in PACS/RIS to include exam start complete times.Ability to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts from the patient and from the medical record which may impact the examination.Acquires quantitative and qualitative data to aid physicians in making diagnosis or performing treatment. Learns to perform data analysis, assesses techniques, methodology, equipment operation and quality control to insure that information is obtained and presented accurately.Prepares and administers dosages of radiopharmaceuticals to patient in preparation for diagnostic procedures in accordance with physician's orders.Monitors staff and work areas to ensure that the levels of radioactive materials are in accordance.
