CNC Machinist / Toolmaker - 1st Shift

Location: Garrett, IN 46738

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Pay: $20.00-$25.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our machine shop team in Garrett, IN. This role is responsible for manufacturing tooling, gauges, fixtures, and precision components using CNC machining centers, lathes, and conversational knee mills. The ideal candidate has strong machining skills, experience with CNC setup, and is proficient in Mastercam programming and Haas machining centers .

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Haas CNC machining centers
• Create and edit CNC programs using Mastercam
• Machine tooling, fixtures, gauges, and precision components to specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, and program adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
• Maintain quality standards and production requirements
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience required
• Proficiency with Mastercam programming required
• Experience setting up and operating Haas machining centers required
• Experience with CNC lathes and conversational knee mills preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Commitment to producing high-quality, precision parts

Preferred Qualifications

• Tool and die or tooling experience
• Experience manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and gauges
• Knowledge of CNC programming and machining best practices
