We'd love for you to join our team!Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to join a collaborative team of database developers and administrators supporting a large, complex application development program. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining database structures, as well as managing and optimizing data within enterprise-scale environments.This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, Agile environment while expanding expertise across modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and advanced data engineering practices.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain database structures to support application development initiativesCreate, modify, and optimize complex SQL queries in high-volume, complex data environmentsPerform data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and reporting activitiesDevelop and maintain ETL processes and data staging solutionsWrite and manage DDL, DML, and DCL statements to support database operationsTroubleshoot performance issues and implement query tuning and optimization strategiesSupport data migration, validation, and pipeline development within AWS environmentsDevelop automation scripts using Python to support database and data processing tasksCollaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to design data solutions within technical and business constraintsUtilize version control tools (e.g., Git) to manage code and database changesMonitor and support system performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Kibana, and DynatraceContinuously evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to improve data solutionsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field5+ years of experience in database development rolesRequired Skills:Strong experience with Data profiling, cleansing, and ETL processes, writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, query tuning and performance optimization, and database programming (DDL, DML, DCL).Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database developmentExperience developing Python scripts for automation or data processingExperience with Git or other version control systemsWorking knowledge of AWS services, including Data migration and validation, data pipelines, monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Kibana, Dynatrace)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to quickly learn new tools and technologiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and clientsDesired Skills:Experience with database administration (DBA) functionsExperience working in Agile environments and using tools such as JiraWillingness and ability to learn DB2 if not currently proficientSecurity Clearance:Willing and eligible to obtain a CBP public Trust.More About B&A:Notable Clients B&A has grown to be a company that is trusted by our clients for exceptional service, innovative solutions, and inspired employees.
