Locums - Delaware Non-Invasive Cardiology Opportunity (IMLC Accepted) Clinical Role Join a growing cardiology program in Delaware providing inpatient non-invasive cardiology services with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) coverage. This locums opportunity is ideal for a flexible, team-oriented cardiologist who enjoys collaborating with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) and mentoring new providers while supporting an expanding cardiovascular program. Assignment Details Start Date: Approximately six weeks from credentialing Initial Coverage Period: October 1, 2026 - November 15, 2026 Contract Length: Initial six-week assignment Potential for ongoing full-time assignments ranging from three to six months Coverage Requirements: Minimum of one week of coverage per month, including one weekend Future full-time opportunities may become available due to practice growth and anticipated retirements Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Weekend call with inpatient rounding Call Schedule: One weekend of call per month One to two weekday nights of call per week Position Highlights Growing cardiology practice Inpatient non-invasive cardiology focus Potential for long-term assignments Opportunity to mentor newly hired APCs Epic EMR system IMLC candidates accepted Clinical Details & Responsibilities Practice Setting: Hospital-based inpatient cardiology Potential future outpatient responsibilities if long-term coverage is needed Patient Volume: Approximately 8-15 patient encounters per day Shared patient census with additional provider support Clinical Responsibilities: Inpatient non-invasive cardiology consultations Hospital rounding Performance of transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) Weekend inpatient call coverage Weeknight call coverage Mentoring and teaching newly onboarded Advanced Practice Clinicians Collaboration with multidisciplinary cardiovascular team Required Procedures: Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) Comprehensive inpatient non-invasive cardiology management Support & Technology Support Staff: Kent location: Two to three Advanced Practice Clinicians Sussex location: Currently recruiting four Advanced Practice Clinicians Collaborative hospital cardiology teams EMR System: Epic Reason for Coverage: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) coverage Growing cardiology practice Potential physician retirements and turnover Requirements Board Certified in Cardiology - Required Active Delaware License - Required OR Active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) Letter of Qualification (LOQ) - Accepted BLS Certification - Required ACLS Certification - Required Experience performing transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) - Required Strong communication and collaboration skills - Required Interest in mentoring Advanced Practice Clinicians - Preferred Organization & Team Expanding cardiovascular program Collaborative physician and APC practice Growing inpatient cardiology service Potential for long-term assignments Supportive clinical environment About Delaware Location & Access:
