Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a MO or compact RN license and surgical specialty skills across thoracic, general, orthopedic, and urology procedures.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• May float to the surgery center as needed
• Call requirements include weekend call once per month (Saturday and Sunday) and weekday call once every two weeks
• 30-minute arrival time required for call

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Experience with thoracic procedures including lobe resection, lung resection, and thoracotomy
• Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, and thyroidectomy
• Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, closed and open fracture reduction, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
• Experience with urology procedures including cystoscopy, laparoscopic cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
• Knowledge of emergency management and fire safety protocols
• Experience with cell saver equipment
• Skilled in administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out) procedures, and wound management

• One holiday selected at the time of contract signing requires coverage
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
