Diesel Technician

Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision. We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Grand Forks, ND. We offer sign on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!

Will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
• Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Skill and Education:

• Heavy duty refrigeration (EPA 609), heavy truck and industrial refrigeration (EPA 609)
• Heavy duty chassis and suspension experience
• Heavy duty trailer maintenance experience

A current valid license is required for this role. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations. This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. 3 years driving experience. This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use. Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age. A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire. Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Minimal level of work shop experience required Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
