Service Technician

The Service Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles as assigned by the Service Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader. In addition, the Service Technician may also be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order upon delivery to the customer.

The ideal Service Technician has an unrestricted driver's license, clean driving record, a minimum of one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, post-secondary automotive training, is ASE certified (or is willing to obtain certification), and has a strong technical performance record.

Essential functions include diagnosing issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing; maintaining knowledge of automotive diagnosis technology; possessing knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact; performing routine service inspections, testing, and lubricating engines and other major components; repairing automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels; adapting to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry; adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards; and performing other duties as assigned.

Physical demands include walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting/smelling, vision, far vision, depth perception, visual accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.

Environmental conditions include exposure to weather, moving mechanical parts, non-climate controlled conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, high, exposed places, noise, and vibration.
