Cardiac PCU RN: Patient Care

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult cardiac patients requiring close monitoring, telemetry, and complex nursing interventions. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and therapies, and continuously evaluate patient responses to treatment. You will monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status, respond promptly to changes in patient condition, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other clinical staff to ensure safe, coordinated, and evidence-based care. The Registered Nurse Cardiac PCU will be responsible for safely managing multiple patients with varying levels of acuity, prioritizing tasks, and utilizing sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment. You will provide patient and family education related to cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care, supporting patients through recovery and transition. This role includes accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards, and active participation in quality improvement and patient experience initiatives.
