Systems Mainframe Engineer

Systems Mainframe Engineer Location: Chandler, AZ (Preferred) | Des Moines, IA (Secondary) Schedule: Flexible 8‑hour shift between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST Employment Type: Contract Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support for Automated Credit, Rewards, and Credit Card Hub applications. Monitor production systems and maintain application stability, performance, and availability. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve failed mainframe jobs and production incidents. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Execute and support ad hoc job runs and production requests. Partner with Production Control teams to restart, recover, and validate failed processes. Respond to business user inquiries and application support requests in a timely manner. Manage and update incident records, problem tickets, and support documentation. Monitor and respond to application support mailboxes. Create and maintain JIRA stories, incident documentation, and knowledge articles. Participate in daily handoff meetings and coordination with offshore support teams. Required Qualifications 6+ years of Mainframe Production Support experience in a large enterprise environment. Strong hands‑on experience supporting mainframe applications in production. Expertise with: JCL COBOL CICS DB2 CA7 IDCAMS Mainview Dynatrace Experience with ticketing, incident management, and documentation tools such as: ServiceNow JIRA Confluence Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to perform effectively in a high‑volume, production‑critical environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across distributed teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
