Occupational Therapist (OT) / Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Full-Time or Part-Time

A great school district in the Greenfield, Massachusetts area is now looking to hire an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2026–2027 school year! This is a school-based contract position providing direct occupational therapy services to K–12 students.

The district strongly prefers a full-time candidate but is also open to part-time availability. One of the biggest advantages of this opportunity is that the district already has an Occupational Therapist responsible for completing evaluations, allowing the selected candidate to focus primarily on providing direct therapy services and implementing established IEP goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an OT or COTA who enjoys working directly with students and helping them develop the functional, motor, sensory, and daily living skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct school-based occupational therapy services to students in grades K–12.
- Implement established IEP goals and individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
- Support students with fine motor skills, visual motor integration, sensory processing, coordination, and functional independence.
- Assist students in developing skills necessary for classroom participation and academic success.
- Work with students across a variety of grade levels and educational settings.
- Monitor student progress toward established IEP goals and adjust therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate therapy documentation, progress reports, and student records.
- Collaborate with the district's evaluating OT, teachers, special education staff, families, and other related service professionals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide updates regarding student progress as needed.
- Follow established treatment plans and supervision requirements applicable to the OT or COTA role.

Experience:

- Previous school-based or pediatric Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
- Experience working with K–12 students is preferred.
- Experience implementing IEP goals and providing direct therapy services is a plus.
- Familiarity with special education services and school-based therapy practices preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the district's existing Occupational Therapist and educational team.

Education/Requirements:

- Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required, as applicable.
- Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
- Must meet all Massachusetts and school district requirements for occupational therapy practice.
- Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Contract

School Year: 2026–2027

Schedule: Full-time preferred; part-time candidates also considered

Hours Per Week: To be determined based on district needs and candidate availability

Age Group: Kindergarten–12th Grade

Caseload: K–12 students requiring direct occupational therapy services

Primary Responsibilities: Direct therapy services and implementation of established IEP goals

Evaluations: Handled by the district's existing Occupational Therapist
