Hiring Department College of Arts and Sciences - CAS/SA&S Job Description Responsibilities Manages all student records for the College of Arts and Sciencesand analyzes student success data for the college; monitors studentprogress towards graduation and designs/coordinates earlyinterventions; develops and oversees student success and retentioninitiatives; manages graduation lists and oversees student successmapping; directs and develops CAS student cohorts, includingpre-law, pre-health; tracks program and policy changes and updatescolleagues; serves as resource to college faculty. Carries asignificant advising load and resolves complex studentissues. Characteristic Duties Manages and analyzes student records and success data for thecollege; regularly presents findings to the deans, departmentchairs, and the advising office Identifies potential hurdles and develops and oversees earlyinterventions, especially for gateway courses in the college;oversees student success mapping Develops and implements student success and retentioninitiatives Manages graduation lists and conducts graduation workshops Directs and develops CAS student cohorts, including pre-law andpre-health; directs students to co-curricular opportunities such asinternships Tracks curricular and policy changes and updates faculty andprofessional advisors; Serves as advising resource to collegefaculty Carries a significant advising load and addresses complexstudent issues; collaborates with admissions and evaluatestranscripts in complex transfer situations; explains availabledegree pathways to students; works with students who are stillexploring and guides them towards goal setting and timely selectionof major field of study Examines advising procedures and ensures that they align withprofessional best practices and function properly within the officeand the campus advising community; pursues updates and improvementsto support efficiency, productivity, and compliance Monitors program requirement changes and communicates toappropriate individuals and groups; explains complex information toothers Shift 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparableknowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications MA and 5-7 years of experience in academic advising, coaching, orrelated field Anticipated Hiring Range $64,000-$69,000 Grade: GGS-010 University Title: SENIOR STUDENT SERVICE COORDINATOR Internal applicants can determine their University title byaccessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
