Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center - Full Time 9:30a - 5:30p

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures. Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under direction of physician. Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce image of organ on photographic film. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

HS Diploma or equivalent experience. Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine required. Employment history of working in an office-based setting is preferred. LEAD - Specific Certification related to position or Associate’s Degree/Technical Degree in related field. All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill the duties of a Technician at the state(s) and/or national level. Experience in guiding and mentoring a work group, making decisions regarding daily priorities, collaborating with Management, and serving as a technical mentor.
