Inspection Team Lead

Are you an experienced Mechanical Inspector or Senior Quality Inspector who has become the person others go to for help with difficult inspections, drawings, or measurement questions?

Micron Solutions is looking for a hands-on Inspection Team Lead to work alongside our Inspection team while providing day-to-day technical guidance, training, and support.

You do not need previous formal supervisory experience. We're looking for a strong inspector with excellent mechanical inspection, blueprint reading, GD&T, and metrology skills who is ready to take the next step into a lead role.

• Perform hands-on incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance and support to Quality Inspectors.
• Help coordinate inspection priorities and workflow to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T .
• Use precision inspection equipment, including CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, pin gages, and indicators .
• Train and mentor inspectors on inspection methods, equipment, and quality requirements.
• Review inspection results, DHRs, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with nonconforming product investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPAs.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to resolve inspection and product quality issues.
• Support new products, validations, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
• Serve as a backup resource to the Quality Supervisor when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Hands-on experience using precision measurement and metrology equipment.
• Experience with CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, and traditional inspection tools .
• Ability to independently perform dimensional inspections and determine product conformance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to other inspectors.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Medical device or other regulated manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Hexagon/PC-DMIS, Keyence, or Mitutoyo inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA requirements, and GMP.
• Experience with DHRs, CAPAs, audits, or quality system documentation.
• Previous Senior Inspector, Lead Inspector, Trainer, or Team Lead experience.
• Associate degree or technical certification.

$35.00-$42.00 per hour , based on inspection experience and technical expertise.
