Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
Employment Type: Part-Time, W-2, Non-Exempt
Pay: $19–$20.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

About the Role

Getty Team is seeking a dependable, agile, and exceptionally helpful Day Porter / Campus Support Technician to support an elementary school campus in South Los Angeles.

The primary purpose of this position is to keep the campus clean, sanitary, safe, and ready for students and staff throughout the school day. This is a hands-on, visible position that combines day-porter cleaning with a limited number of basic facility-support tasks.

The work is responsive rather than completely routine. On some days, the team member may follow the normal cleaning schedule. On others, an urgent spill, restroom problem, student incident, or campus request may require priorities to change. The successful candidate will understand what requires immediate attention, communicate clearly, and return to routine responsibilities as time permits.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain restrooms, entrances, common areas, offices, outdoor eating areas, and other assigned campus spaces.
• Sweep, mop, spot-clean, disinfect, remove trash, and address visible debris throughout the shift.
• Monitor restrooms and replenish school-provided paper products, soap, and other consumables.
• Respond promptly and discreetly to spills, vomit, bodily-fluid incidents, restroom issues, and other urgent cleaning needs.
• Handle found sharps in accordance with Getty Team training and established safety procedures using provided PPE, tools, and disposal containers.
• Support lunch and outdoor eating areas before, during, and after periods of heavy use.
• Complete assigned cleaning checklists and document completed work through CleanSmarts.
• Communicate unusual conditions, urgent requests, supply shortages, damage, and deferred lower-priority work through the designated team communication channel.
• Coordinate respectfully with the designated school contact while following Getty Team procedures and supervision.
• Work professionally and discreetly around students, teachers, administrators, families, and visitors.

Basic Facility Support

The team member may also be trained and authorized to perform a limited number of basic facility-support tasks, including:

• Clearing routine toilet clogs using an approved plunger and established procedures.
• Replacing standard light bulbs that are safely accessible using approved equipment.
• Completing small cosmetic wall touch-ups or surface patches using approved materials.
• Observing and reporting leaks, damaged fixtures, unsafe conditions, and other facility concerns requiring additional attention.

More involved plumbing, electrical, HVAC, structural, construction, or specialized repair needs will be documented and referred for appropriate follow-up.

What We Are Looking For

• Prior janitorial, custodial, day-porter, or facility-support experience is preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, with an interest in learning approved basic facility-support procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, attentive, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable changing priorities when urgent campus needs arise.
• A genuinely helpful, solutions-oriented attitude.
• Good judgment and the ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated.
• Respectful and professional conduct in a student-centered environment.
• Ability to follow written checklists, safety procedures, chemical instructions, and supervisor direction.
• Ability to use a smartphone application for checklists, timekeeping, photographs, and team communication.
• Ability to communicate clearly with Getty Team management and designated school personnel.
• Willingness to complete required training and school-site clearance requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the scheduled shift.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repeated cleaning motions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely.
• Ability to push or pull cleaning equipment and supply carts.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals, personal protective equipment, and approved step equipment safely after training.

School-Site Requirements

Because this position works at an elementary school, employment and assignment are contingent upon completion of required criminal-record clearances, including DOJ/FBI Live Scan, and any other onboarding or safety requirements established for the campus.

The team member must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow all Getty Team and school rules regarding student interaction, confidentiality, safety, and campus conduct.
