Senior Financial Analyst

Pay Rate: $60 - $70 per hour Summary: Location: Oakland, CA Duration: 6 Months Work Mode: Hybrid Responsibilities: Perform analysis on complex data models, requiring customized reporting and data interpretation. Develop and apply metrics to generate recommendations related to business strategy and investment decisions; present findings to leadership. Conduct portfolio‑level analysis of capital investment plans, including evaluation of cost, risk, and benefit tradeoffs. Support development and refinement of multi‑year investment scenarios under varying financial constraints. Translate optimization outputs into clear, actionable insights that inform investment decisions. Connect analytical results to financial envelopes, funding constraints, and executive decision‑making needs. Partner with cross‑functional teams to align inputs and assumptions, and assist in the reporting of financial and operational metrics. Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports, and analytical tools. Perform data validation and QA/QC to ensure accuracy, consistency, and auditability of outputs. Support executive‑level reporting, scenario comparisons, and governance reviews. Analyze current processes to identify and implement automation and efficiency opportunities. Provide decision support to senior management in the creation of financial and operational metrics and reports. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, capital planning, portfolio analysis, investment decision support, or related experience. Strong understanding of financial structures (cost, risk, benefits) and investment tradeoffs under constraints. Experience with capital planning and enterprise systems (SAP preferred; exposure to Copperleaf, Foundry, or similar tools a plus). Strong Excel and Power BI skills for modeling, analysis, and portfolio‑level reporting. Ability to work with large, complex datasets and connect outputs to financial and planning decisions. Preferred Skills: Experience in utility, energy, or regulated infrastructure environments. Familiarity with portfolio optimization and scenario modeling tools (e.g., Copperleaf). Proven ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, decision‑ready insights. Strong communication skills, with experience supporting leadership‑facing deliverables. Detail‑oriented with focus on data quality, consistency, and auditability. Broad knowledge of analytical methods, modeling approaches, and problem‑solving techniques. #J-18808-Ljbffr
