Accounting Advisory Senior Associate II

Job Summary As a Senior Associate, you’ll lead teams that consult with Grant Thornton accounting advisory clients on complex accounting transactions stemming from regulatory or strategic business changes such as mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, and more. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm, engaging client stakeholders to identify, assess, and deliver substantiated advice. From day one, you’ll be empowered with access to firm leaders, mentors, training programs, and growth opportunities. Responsibilities Listen and communicate with clients about engagement and service expectations; resolve technical and service issues quickly and thoroughly. Plan, execute, and complete divestiture solutions—including evaluating carve‑out readiness, supporting 100‑day planning and operational transition, and assisting in the separation of the business—for financial sponsors and corporate clients. Support SEC regulatory filings for carve‑outs and facilitate preparation of carve‑out financials. Identify market trends to be a proactive problem solver and sought‑after adviser to clients and colleagues. Train and supervise audit associates and interns, providing consistent, regular feedback. Work at a client site, in the office, or remotely, with flexible work arrangements. Represent Grant Thornton at recruiting and professional networking events. Build technical and professional skills through formal training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, or related disciplines; a master’s degree is a plus. Minimum two years’ experience providing financial statement audits, accounting advisory, or a similar transaction advisory consulting service. Analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in US GAAP, SEC reporting rules and standards, accounting, transaction, or mergers and acquisition services. Value teamwork, is agile, and knows the power of building strong relationships. Skilled at leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues. Can travel on short notice (30% travel expected). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
