Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required. Requirements: * 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required * Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required * Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments * Inform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner * Update job notes daily * Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs. * Able to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment * Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L's high level of safety * Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities * Set up and participate in live training events to ensure the competency of personnel * Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance * Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed * Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required * Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook * Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills * Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity * Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented Benefits: R+L Carriers offers an excellent compensation and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching contributions, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and vacation lodging at our exclusive employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
