We are seeking a daytime Host to join our team! The host is one of the most crucial positions in a restaurant, the host is the first person the guest sees and engages with as well as controls the flow for the entire shift. Day to day responsibilities for a daytime host include:
- Managing reservations, either in person, on the phone or online.
- Answering phone calls.
- Seating guests and answering any initial questions.
- Providing waiting times when necessary or for guests without reservations.
- Creating an appropriate atmosphere when guests arrive.
- Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met in front of house area.
- Assisting with opening and closing of restaurant.
- Knowledge of menu.
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the same guest count.
Some host requirements include:
- To maintain a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
- To provide excellent customer service in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
