Duties

Help

• You will be responsible for the completion of complex and significant engineering technician projects.
• You will provide engineering technician services and processes to all shops within the Production Resources Department.
• You will participate in the revision, restructure, and maintenance of any local or corporate shipyard modernization programs.
• You will conduct technical studies related to the development, improvement, consolidation, and modernization of industrial facilities.
• You will provide engineering technician services to support shipyard compliance with Quality Assurance (QA), Occupational Safety, and Health and Environmental (OSHE) requirements.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience applying comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of concepts, practices, and regulations regarding Engineering Technician services.
• Experience investigating, analyzing, and developing recommendations for improvement.
• Experience applying knowledge across several engineering technician disciplines such as: electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil, or nuclear engineering.
• Experience with maintenance, repair, testing, and modifications of industrial plant equipment.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience developing and improving industrial processes, methods and practices
• Experience collecting and interpreting complex data, and conducting in-depth analyses of complex problems/situations.
• Experience with engineering technician services in support of and compliance with Quality Assurance (QA), Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental (OSHE) requirements.
• Experience collecting and maintaining utilization data for all industrial plant equipment.
