Role Description This full-time, on-site Diesel Mechanic role is based at A1 Fleet Service, LLC in Houston, TX. The Diesel Mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Daily tasks include conducting inspections, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing preventive maintenance services, and documenting all work performed. The role involves using diagnostic tools, following service procedures, collaborating with the service team, and communicating findings and repair recommendations to supervisors or service advisors. The Diesel Mechanic will help maintain a clean, safe work environment and support efficient workflow to reduce customer downtime. Qualifications Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics and experience working with heavy-duty trucks and engines. Hands-on experience with Vehicle Maintenance and Equipment Maintenance across trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance on diesel vehicles and heavy equipment to reduce breakdowns and extend asset life. Knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including Heavy Equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and tractors. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and standard shop equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, work orders, and service records. Strong attention to safety, with adherence to company and regulatory safety standards. Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience as a diesel technician or mechanic; vocational training or relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM training) are a plus.
