Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement therapeutic interventions designed to help patients regain functional independence
- Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide patient and family education to support continued recovery at home
- Communicate patient status and responses to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment by following all safety and infection control protocols
- Work collaboratively with the rehab team to promote positive patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active state COTA license in Iowa, or the ability to obtain one before starting
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- A passion for patient care and helping others regain independence
- No prior experience required - new graduates welcome
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Occupational therapy principles and treatment techniques
- Patient care and documentation best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safety and infection control standards
- Time management and adaptability in a busy setting
