Manager, Patient Education and School Services

We’re searching for a Manager of Patient Education and School Services, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll serve as the Head of School for a SACS-accredited K–12 hospital-based educational program, providing academic, instructional, and operational leadership across inpatient and outpatient settings while ensuring educational integrity, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement for students impacted by medical complexity. You’ll lead instructional practice, school advocacy services, and external partnerships to support continuity of learning, educational access, and successful transitions, working collaboratively within a pediatric healthcare environment to align educational services with institutional goals while maintaining rigorous accreditation standards and student-centered outcomes. Job Duties & Responsibilities Serves as Head of School for the SACS-accredited K–12 educational program, with responsibility for academic integrity, institutional effectiveness, and adherence to accreditation standards across inpatient and outpatient settings Sets and advances the strategic vision, educational philosophy, and instructional framework in accordance with SACS-accredited K–12 requirements, ensuring alignment with mission, governance, and continuous improvement expectations Leads long-range strategic planning to support accreditation sustainability, program growth, and institutional capacity, including alignment of staffing, curriculum, and operational infrastructure to accredited K–12 standards Represents the school as Head of School to institutional leaders and external stakeholders, advocating for resources and decisions necessary to maintain accredited status and educational excellence Provides instructional leadership ensuring academic programs meet the standards and instructional expectations of a SACS-accredited K–12 educational program, adapted appropriately for medically impacted learners Oversees instructional planning, delivery, and documentation by Patient Education Specialists (teachers), ensuring consistency, rigor, and accreditation-aligned instructional practices across inpatient and outpatient environments Ensures systems are in place for monitoring student progress, documenting academic engagement, and demonstrating educational effectiveness consistent with accredited K–12 requirements Leads instructional coaching, professional learning, and quality assurance processes to support continuous improvement and compliance with accreditation expectations Ensures curricular resources and instructional materials align with grade-level standards and the requirements of a SACS-accredited K–12 educational program Oversees school advocacy services to ensure practices align with expectations for student support, communication, and stakeholder engagement within a SACS-accredited K–12 educational program Ensures advocacy workflows with families and external school systems support documented continuity of instruction and educational access, consistent with accreditation requirements Builds and maintains relationships with sending schools, districts, and external partners to support compliance, transitions, and student records management Ensures communications reflect professional, ethical, and culturally responsive practices consistent with accredited K–12 program standards Represents the accredited school program in external collaborations related to education continuity, compliance, or accreditation-related inquiries Holds primary responsibility for the SACS-accredited K–12 educational program, including ongoing compliance, continuous improvement, renewal cycles, and submission of required reports and documentation Leads preparation for accreditation reviews, audits, and site visits, including evidence collection, staff readiness, stakeholder engagement, and corrective action planning Develops, updates, and enforces school policies, procedures, and governance documentation required to demonstrate compliance with requirements of a SACS-accredited K–12 educational program Ensures staff understand and adhere to accreditation-related expectations, documentation practices, and continuous improvement processes Identifies accreditation-related risks and leads mitigation and corrective actions to protect institutional standing and student outcomes Leads the institutional effectiveness process required for an accredited K–12 program, including goal setting, data analysis, action planning, and progress monitoring Defines and monitors academic, operational, and student-support metrics that demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards and drive school improvement Uses data to evaluate instructional effectiveness, service delivery, and stakeholder experience across inpatient and outpatient programs Directly supervises school program staff members (School Advocacy Coordinators and Patient Education Specialists), ensuring staffing qualifications, roles, and professional development align with expectations for a SACS-accredited K–12 educational program Ensures appropriate staffing models and coverage support accredited instructional services across inpatient and outpatient settings Leads targeted professional development to maintain instructional quality, accreditation competency, and readiness for reviews and audits Oversees operational and resource planning to support accreditation compliance, instructional continuity, and program sustainability Maintains regular and predictable attendance and performs other duties necessary to meet institutional and accreditation obligations Skills & Requirements Master’s Degree Education or related field required Doctorate Degree Education or related field preferred Teaching Certification (K-12) Any State. Transfer current state to Texas within 12 months of employment or National Board Certification National Board for Professional Teaching Standards required Principal Certification Texas Education Agency preferred Teaching Certification in Special Education Texas Education Agency preferred Certificate in ESL Texas Education Agency preferred School Guidance Counselor or School Psychologist Texas Education Agency preferred School Services Personnel License Texas State of Education preferred 7 Years Educational setting including 2 years in educational program development required 2 Years Management/Supervisory experience required #J-18808-Ljbffr TCH Medical Center
