Resident Camp Wrangler

Girl Scouts San Diego
Under direct supervision, the Wrangler assists the Equestrian Director and horse program unit staff in leading a safe, fun horse program appropriate for all ages and abilities of campers.
- Participate in the development and implementation of horse and general camp program activities
- Will assist with teaching of activities to campers to include horseback riding, grooming and other special skills. Occasionally assists in riding arena or on trail
- Assist with feeding and care of camp horses
- Perform other duties, as assigned
This is a temporary seasonal employment opportunity.

Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work the full summer camp season - June 23rd - August 13th
- Ability to work with children and staff of different ages
- 2-3 years’ experience working with and caring for horses
- Experience teaching western-style horseback riding lessons preferred
- Lifeguard, wilderness first aid or other advanced first aid preferred
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or able to obtain certification before the first day of work
- Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and live on camp premises during the summer
- Valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation (Daily and/or occasional travel may be required. Must be comfortable driving narrow, winding mountain roads with passengers in mini or cargo vans)
